VMSG’s Surgicenter is a custom-designed, cutting edge facility, staffed by leaders in the field of veterinary surgery. We are dedicated to the care your pets throughout the pre-operative, operative and post-operative periods. Your pet’s care starts with a consultation with one of our board certified veterinary surgeons who have undergone over 4 years of advanced training and certification programs to gain expertise in surgical care. We are also dedicated to supporting you through the process and ensuring that you a complete understanding of the surgery performed, why it is needed, and if there are any nonsurgical options. During your consultation, we will work with you and your primary care veterinarian to develop a custom treatment and surgical plan for your pet. We are here to answer your questions and discuss your options.
For patients who are admitted for surgery, their care is provided by specialists in multiple fields as well as our specialized veterinary technical staff. Many clients express significant concerns about the risks of their pets undergoing anesthesia. Patients are continuously monitored in our ICU with a fully staffed hospital 24 hours a day. Your pet’s anesthetic protocol is custom designed based on their disease, age, breed and diagnostic results. Every anesthetized pet has an IV catheter and is intubated to control breathing and to protect their airway. Anesthesia is produced smoothly with an injection and maintained with an anesthetic gas and pure oxygen mixture. Your pet is continuously monitored by 1 or more dedicated nurses from the start of anesthesia until they safely wake up following surgery. Postoperative care consists of pain management, IV fluid support and round the clock monitoring by a veterinarian and our trained staff.
When your pet is ready to be discharged from hospital we work closely with you and your primary care veterinarian to transition the continued care to an at home setting.
